Dr. Madura completed her B.S. in Psychology at Harvard University in 1997. She later wrote her Master’s Thesis on the effects of mood induction on the perception of affective stimuli (Barry University, 2001) and her Dissertation on the moderator effect of alexithymia on physiological measures of change in mood (Nova Southeastern University, 2005). Professionally, she has extensive experience working with inpatient as well as outpatient adult and geriatric populations.
She has past experience in rehabilitation psychology, including evaluations and therapy services for patients on the Trauma Unit, inpatient treatment of hospital patients, and psychotherapy treatment of ALF residents. She has worked in multiple outpatient and inpatient settings performing neuropsychological assessment and psychotherapy. She has worked with young adult, adult, and geriatric populations. She is also trained in EMDR by the EMDR Institute, Inc. She is currently specializing in telehealth adult psychotherapy. She is often using cognitive-behavioral, solution-based, psychodynamic, and humanistic approaches to psychotherapy.
