History of Comprehensive MedPsych Systems
Comprehensive MedPsych Systems, Inc. was founded in Sarasota, Florida in 1998 by Dr. Geoffrey Kanter. Over the past 20+ years, CMPS has expanded to more than 25 offices throughout the state of Florida and has become the largest and most comprehensive private behavioral mental healthcare group in Florida with offices expanded into Alabama.
CMPS is a nationally recognized private counseling center offering a wide range of mental and behavioral health services delivered by compassionate professionals. Comprehensive MedPsych Systems now boasts more than 150 staff members. Clinical staff includes board-certified neuropsychologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, advanced-practice psychiatric nurses, post-doctoral neuropsychology residents, licensed mental health counselors, licensed clinical social workers, and Certified Addiction Professionals (CAP) providing services mostly in outpatient settings but also in inpatient settings including acute medical hospitals, a Level II Trauma unit, rehabilitation hospitals/units, and psychiatric hospitals/units.
Comprehensive MedPsych Systems receives referrals from more than 1,000 sources each year with high expectations of quality services and top-notch standards of care. Innovative programs have been developed in diverse facilities and settings as including Ob-Gyn offices, inpatient psychiatric unit, inpatient hospital trauma unit, inpatient rehabilitation hospital, and a child development center.
Since its founding, Comprehensive MedPsych Systems has provided services to more than 100,000 patients, currently providing more than 13,000 patient visits per month.
Comprehensive MedPsych Systems’ private practice model of innovative multi-disciplinary care has received national recognition by the American Psychological Association Practice Organization and is expected to continue its expansion.
