Offering Comprehensive Neuropsychological Evaluations

Therapist Listening to Her Patient

A neuropsychological evaluation provides an assessment of behavior and thinking skills that relate to brain function. Here at Comprehensive MedPsych Systems, neuropsychological evaluations are administered without invasive tests, primarily utilizing verbal and written tasks. There are no shots, pills, x-rays or physical examinations needed for the evaluation.

The neuropsychological evaluation is more complex than a standard psychological evaluation. We will assess cognitive areas for potential dysfunction, including:

  • Attention
  • Memory
  • Visual-spatial functioning
  • Language skills
  • Problem-solving
  • Visual-motor speed and coordination

We will also take a look at emotional and motivational issues. We may ask you to remember information, solve puzzles and fill out questionnaires. The pattern of strengths and weaknesses that we detect will be used to help us diagnose your condition, plan for treatment, and determine the best medication management plan possible.

We conduct in-depth interviews and testing all under one roof here at Comprehensive MedPsych Systems. Plan on spending anywhere from two to six hours for testing. We’ll let you know beforehand how much time to budget. We will complete your evaluation report within two weeks, but this will vary depending on the circumstances. For instance, cases that involve litigation will take longer to compile.

Many of our neuropsychologists are board-certified in various areas of neuropsychology and psychology, many with litigation and courtroom experience.
