Bio
Dr. Koenitzer provides neuropsychological services across the lifespan to include assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders and neurocognitive disorders due to traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Lewy Body disease, cancer and cancer-related treatment, and various other medical and neurological conditions. In addition to assessment, Dr. Koenitzer has helped older adults with neurocognitive disorders learn to compensate for their cognitive weaknesses through individualized cognitive remediation interventions. In additional to his clinical work, Dr. Koenitzer’s research areas of interest include performance validity, dementia, and olfaction in neurocognitive disorders.
Dr. Koenitzer earned his doctoral degree from the Florida Institute of Technology, with specialized training in neuropsychology and behavioral medicine. He completed his clinical internship with advanced neuropsychology specialty training at Eastern Virginia Medical School, followed by a two-year residency in neuropsychology through a private practice setting.
