Julia started her career in addiction treatment settings, then worked in outpatient, inpatient and intensive outpatient mental health & eating disorder programs working with all ages.
Julia works with clients both individually and in family therapy to address behaviors, patterns, past experiences and beliefs that might be holding them back from living truly aligned with their values whether that be in their relationship with their bodies, food, relationships or healing from past experiences. Julia’s approach in therapy integrates holistic, expressive, developmental attachment theory based approaches such as Internal Family Systems, with exposure response prevention and Acceptance & Commitment therapy approaches. In addition to talk therapy approaches (top-down approach), Julia also works with clients using brief trauma resolution process that integrates brain-based healing techniques (bottom-up approach.) Julia loves working with teens and adults, people dealing with transition, grief, trauma, eating disorders, body image issues.
Julia provides compassionate, solution-focused therapy, often using humor, sharing new ideas about human brains and trauma and offering direct and authentic feedback and space to process openly. Julia often works with clients to learn new coping skills to improve your mental health and connection with self.
