Elaine S. Rubinson brings over 35 years of experience as a psychotherapist and grief counselor to The North Star Centre. She received her B.S. degree in Mental Health Technology from Hahnemann Medical College University in Philadelphia, PA and her Master’s Degree from Temple University.
Elaine worked for PATH Community Mental Health Center in Philadelphia as a therapist and Director of Mental Health Programs. In Florida, she was affiliated with the Renfrew Center, East Las Olas Psychological Group, Family Service Agency and in private practice. In addition, she has planned, organized, and presented educational workshops and seminars.
Elaine has served on many professional task forces and Boards in Philadelphia and Florida. Her community work began years ago as a volunteer and officer of many charitable organizations. She has offered her clinical expertise to the shelter for battered women at Women in Distress, led widow and widower’s groups and survivor’s of suicide groups for the Mental Health Association of Broward County and a “Suddenly Single” workshop for Brandeis University National Woman’s Committee. She currently is Newsletter Editor and Publicity Chair for her community unit of Papanicolaou Cancer Research.
At The North Star Centre, Elaine offers caring, confidential help with depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement, marital and relationship issues, divorce, traumatic grief, problems related to aging and anger management.
