Bio

Hello, I am Marly Ayala-Icaza originally from Ecuador and Brazil where I spend part of my childhood with my mom’s family side. In Ecuador I graduated initially as a nurse, I worked few years as a nurse manager of a surgery department in a prestigious private clinic. I got married in 1981 to an MD who had 2 girls and went to live in Paris France for a few years. I went back to school and graduated as a psychologist studying a six years degree and one more for my thesis that was a workgroup named “Terapia Dialéctica en Comunidades de Aprendizaje”. I validated my degree in the USA in 2010, completed my master’s at Phoenix and Walden Universities. I worked in Fort Lauderdale for a psychiatric hospital managing the crisis unit while volunteering for a non-profit Institute doing therapy for people with HIV in Spanish, Portuguese, and French. Currently, I live in Bradenton Florida with my husband Ricardo. I manage mainly anxiety, depression, and personality disorders, and I am passionate about neuroscience. I love studying, writing, painting, walking doing yoga and meditation, and playing my guitar.
