Ashley is a licensed mental health counselor, certified dialectical-behavioral therapy provider, and registered art therapist. She graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School with a dual master’s degree in counseling and art therapy. Ashley has worked with a variety of client populations to include severe and persistent mental illness. Ashley’s specialized areas of mental health treatment include trauma, depression, anxiety, anger management, and bipolar disorder. She has acquired specialized training in diagnosis and management/treatment of personality disorders with a primary focus on borderline personality disorder and narcissistic personality disorder. Ashley’s modality of choice is DBT, but she also incorporates psychodynamic, supportive, and cognitive behavioral therapies (as well as art therapy if requested). Ashley tailors her approach to each client’s particular needs, strengths, and personality. Her therapy style is one of support and validation while being straightforward, assigning homework, and keeping clients accountable.
