I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Sarasota, practicing in the State of Florida with a client base ranging from 3-95 years old. Depending on your location, we can meet in person, via telehealth, or a combination of both.
My approach
My main approach is client-centered therapy. Once we have established a foundation, I utilize CBT and/or other methods and techniques as required.
My focus
Adolescents through adults working through adjustment, trauma and trauma-related conditions (PTSD), anxiety, depression, co-dependency, and SMI disorders, such as MDD, Bipolar, and Panic/Anxiety attacks. My aim is to support your goals and meet your expectations while providing positive guidance.
My communication style
Rapport development in a calm, safe, empathetic, and supportive environment. You feeling heard is the priority.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey began 35 years ago on a dock in upstate New York. I met a woman who seemed very sad, and so, I asked her if she wanted to talk. She hesitated and I explained that after all, we were strangers, and we would likely never cross paths again. We talked for about 2 hours. When we said goodbye, she paused and said, “Thank you for helping me, things look better now”. The rest is an account of gaining knowledge and experience so that I can help life look better for as many people as possible.
My goals for you
We work together to define your needs and establish a treatment plan that works for you.
My first session with you
Our first session is about getting to know each other. The discussion is centered on what brought you to seek help and to ask any questions you might have about the process, about me, or anything else you would like to bring up. It is mainly to ensure you feel comfortable and want to move forward with me.
