Dr. Wheeler has been working with children and teens for over 20 years with an emphasis on treating the whole child through collaboration with medical providers, occupational therapists, and school staff. The value of understanding children’s behavior as communication and not judging it as good or bad but rather searching for the “why” is of upmost importance. The concept of “Children Do Well If They Can” is a central value in therapy with Dr. Wheeler. She has expertise in treating Anxiety, ADHD, and the PDA profile of Autism. In teens she is skilled at helping with issues related to identity, anxiety, and body image. You will find Dr. Wheeler to be warm and genuine in your interactions and will work as a team to help your family system grow in understanding diagnoses and skill sets that support your goals. Teens will find a safe place to verbalize their thoughts and feelings as they explore growth and change.
