Jill is a Licensed Mental health Counselor and has been performing mental health counseling in south Florida for more than 10 years. The combination of Jill’s extensive, international, travel background with her years of practicing therapy in a culturally diverse, university setting, has made her especially adept at working with individuals struggling to create symmetry between disparate cultural influences in their lives. Jill gained considerable experience working in the field of Addiction, facilitating Group therapy, and employing individual psychotherapy with dual-diagnosis patients at a Residential Treatment facility. Moreover, during her time providing memory training and supportive therapy for seniors challenged with cognitive decline, Jill developed a skilled understanding and an affinity for working with this population.
Jill is a Certified Therapist in EMDR Therapy (Eye- Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an empirically validated therapeutic model designed to treat PTSD and other types of maladaptive thought patterns. Additionally, Jill has devoted more than 100 hours of training, honing the particular skills needed to access the subconscious mind and meeting the requisite criteria to become a Certified Practitioner of Rapid Resolution Therapy, registered with the Institute of Rapid Resolution Therapy.
Utilizing an integrated approach, Jill believes in tailoring therapy to the unique needs of the individual. In addition to creating a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment for her clients, the main modalities of therapy she employs are IFS (Internal Family Systems), REBT (Rational Emotive Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and Attachment-Based therapy. Jill has, also, had much success applying the concepts of Emotion-Focused Therapy in her work with couples grappling with relationship issues. Although Jill is adept at utilizing a multitude of modalities, she believes that for all clients, both the acquisition of enhanced self-awareness and applicable coping skills are foundational for the overarching goal of effecting positive change.
