Dr. Meriam Mikhail is a Licensed Psychologist in the states of Florida and Massachusetts who earned her doctorate in psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL, with a concentration in School Psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship through the Manatee Public School District in Bradenton, FL where she received comprehensive training with emphasis on psychoeducational evaluations, consultation, individual and group therapy, and intervention implementation. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at Dana Group Associates and Nova Psychiatric Services in Needham, MA, with training in neuropsychological testing and therapy with older adults.
Dr. Meriam Mikhail has worked with diverse populations across different settings including schools, community mental health, clinics, hospitals, foster care organizations, and nursing homes. She practices a comprehensive approach to mental health involving coordinated care with psychiatrists, neuropsychologists, teachers, social workers, physicians, mental health counselors, legal and allied health professionals. She specializes in administering and interpreting diagnostic assessments for children, adolescents, and adults.
Treating trauma and providing alternative therapeutic methods are high interests of hers. Specifically, Dr. Meriam Mikhail is devoted to the development and implementation of art-making activities aimed to stimulate expression and communication among mental health professionals and their clients. Dr. Meriam Mikhail utilizes a Client-Centered and Analytic approach to psychotherapy, with emphasis on helping individuals gain awareness, insight, and acceptance with the goal of personal growth and integration of the self. She treats children, adolescents, adults, and older adults and works with individuals, couples, and families.
Dr. Meriam Mikhail is a fine artist and enjoys painting and drawing in her spare time. She also enjoys running, reading, and traveling.
