Chris Anderson is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist who earned his Master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University in Texas. At ACU’s Marriage and Family Institute, he specialized in working with adults and couples on a variety of topics and issues, including premarital counseling, couple enhancement, conflict resolution, and divorce. After relocating to Florida, Mr. Anderson worked as an outpatient therapist where he gained years of valuable experience working with young children, adolescents, and adults. These patients presented with a wide array of needs — including depression and anxiety, ADHD, behavioral issues, anger management, substance abuse, and many forms of trauma. Although he now specializes in working with adults – be they individuals or couples – this experience served to enhance his understanding of the complex individual, couple, and family dynamics.

Mr. Anderson believes that a relationship of comfort, trust, and genuine interest between therapist and patient is vital to working with any person on any issue. He also believes that an individual’s behavior or way of thinking can be best understood in the context of his or her past and current circumstances. Mr. Anderson seeks to thoroughly understand his patients and then helps them to develop tools they can use to better manage life’s challenges. He extends this focus on context to the couples and families with whom he works, believing that partners and family members can overcome most difficulties by taking the time to truly understand each other’s needs and wants.

Mr. Anderson’s specialty is working with adult individuals and couples, and dealing with a variety of issues, including depression and anxiety, premarital counseling, couple enhancement, conflict resolution, sexual difficulties, trauma, parenting (including co-parenting), divorce, and more. He is currently accepting new patients and would welcome the opportunity to work with you or your family members who may benefit from his expertise.
