I am a bilingual (English/Spanish), double Board-Certified Advanced Nurse Practitioner (APRN) with qualifications as an Autonomous practitioner in the Family Practice completing my studies at Barry University, graduated in 2017. In addition, I’ve completed a postmaster’s degree in Psychiatric mental health at Florida State University in 2019, with 6 years of experience in the mental health area, and 7 years in Family practice, over a broad population in the community and outpatient care. My special areas of interest in psychiatric mental health include not only managing different ages (pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations), multiple cultures, and a variety of disorders but also, completing core NP education focused on evidence-based practice, enhancing her ability to be an effective member of any health care team. Furthermore, she is proficient in delivering care through on-site and Telehealth, maintaining a track record of successfully improving care standards, optimizing health records management, and fostering a work culture emphasizing learning and innovation.
My focus is on the treatment of mood disorders, trauma, psychotic disorders, substance abuse and chronic mental illness through psychiatric assessment, medication management and brief psychotherapeutic intervention for adult clients ages 18-65+. I believe in creating an individualized plan of care that values client involvement, interprofessional collaboration and evidenced-based practice. My goal for my clients is to feel empowered to treat their illness through supportive education in a stigma free environment. On the other hand, It is very important for me to assess my patients reviewing their possible current comorbidities (medical problems), and medical treatment to obtaining possible adverse reactions involving their mental wellbeing. Educating my patient is a must in my care. A client can expect their initial visit to include not only a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, determination of treatment goals, education about diagnosis and available treatment options, but also possible physical problems involved. I have the pleasure of working alongside many skilled and experienced clinicians and am happy to collaborate and coordinate care with them when appropriate to the clients’ needs.
